Brian's Iconik Iconik 2

Flagship

Modern butterfly flagship; lighter refined core, customizable flex profiles

Base price: $1800·Style: butterfly·Level ceiling: College·Sizing: true

intermediatesenior

The Iconik 2 is the new flagship line from Brian's — their lightest pad ever on a mid-flex butterfly platform. Intermediate and senior sizing. The Iconik sits above the Optik line in the Brian's catalog, targeting goalies who want modern light weight with the brand's best slide technology.

Construction centers on two distinguishing features: BRI-CORE Triaxle carbon-fiber composite reinforcement in the thigh rise (providing a rigid, ultra-lightweight frame where you want stiffness) and a pre-curved thigh shape for 5-hole seal. The single break below the knee enables hybrid-style flex on the lower half while keeping the thigh rise firm. Primo-Slide inner edges are Brian's slide tech — on par with Vaughn QuickSlide, per community consensus — and extend through the boot.

The Iconik 2 is a 2026 release. No long-term community data yet on whether BRI-CORE Triaxle holds up, whether the pre-curve maintains shape, or how the carbon construction wears. The slide tech is proven from the Optik line; the new construction elements are not.

Best for: College-ceiling butterfly goalies who want Brian's best-in-class slide tech with lightweight construction; goalies who've used Optik pads and want the brand's new flagship.

Not ideal for: goalies who want proven construction with multi-season data before committing $1,800; buyers who need Bauer-level resale; pure butterfly goalies who'd prefer stiffer rebound output.

Score breakdown

durability

4/5

BRI-CORE Triaxle carbon thigh is a new 2026 construction — no long-term data yet. Score of 4 is optimistic based on the material's properties (carbon is durable) rather than community-confirmed performance.

mobility

5/5

Lightest Brian's pad ever, with carbon thigh rise reducing weight where the heaviest material traditionally lives. Among the lighter flagships in the catalog.

rebound

4/5

Mid-flex below the knee keeps the Iconik 2 from being a pure stiff-core rebound machine. Controlled rather than maximum output — the tradeoff for hybrid-flex architecture.

sliding

5/5

Primo-Slide is Brian's best slide system, consistently rated on par with Vaughn QuickSlide by community reviewers. Best-in-class slide tech alongside Vaughn.

comfort

4/5

Pre-curved thigh shape is a fit advantage for 5-hole seal. Single break below the knee gives flexibility in positions where other stiff pads restrict movement.

value

2/5

At $1,800 with no long-term data, value is unproven. Strong scores in mobility and slide tech justify the ask if both priorities match yours; weak if rebound output is your primary concern.

resale

3/5

Brian's is a niche brand with a smaller used market than Bauer, CCM, or even True. Iconik is brand new — resale data doesn't exist yet. Score reflects Brian's historical resale patterns.
