Warrior Ritual G7 Ritual G7 RTL
FlagshipPro-spec Warrior; HyperComp internals, semi-hinge boot, custom-grade
Base price: $1500·Style: butterfly·Level ceiling: College·Sizing: true
The Ritual G7 RTL is Warrior's flagship — pro-spec, intermediate and senior sizing, with HyperComp reinforcement, a semi-hinge boot, and custom-grade build options. RTL stands for retail, but in Warrior's naming it indicates the build level is equivalent to custom rather than off-the-shelf retail spec.
Construction: HyperComp internal reinforcement adds rigidity where you need it (thigh rise, knee block) while maintaining the G7 generation's defining characteristic — a single 1-piece core with single external break that keeps the pad at 4lb 8oz for a 34+1.5 senior size. Class-leading weight. Semi-hinge boot gives more ankle flex than fixed-boot designs without the instability of a full hinge. Sturdy double-elastic Velcro strapping, overbuilt relative to competitors.
The 180-day warranty is the notable downside. Industry standard is 1 year. Warrior justifies this partly through consistent quality — one-year ownership reviews are widely positive. But if something fails in month seven, you're paying out of pocket.
Best for: College-ceiling butterfly goalies who want the lightest pad on the market with HyperComp durability; goalies willing to trade warranty coverage for weight advantage.
Not ideal for: goalies who need a 1-year warranty for peace of mind; buyers for whom the G7 Pro below delivers equivalent performance at $250 less.
Scores
Score breakdown
durability
4/5HyperComp internals and double-elastic Velcro strapping are durability assets. 180-day warranty is shorter than every competitor — that's a real gap, not marketing language. One-year community reviews are generally positive.
mobility
5/54lb 8oz for a 34+1.5 is class-leading. The RTL's semi-hinge boot and single external break make this the fastest-moving butterfly pad in the catalog at flagship tier.
rebound
5/5Stiff thigh combined with G7 generation's single external break delivers strong rebounds. Less stiff than CCM Axis or True HZRDUS but more controlled for a mobile goalie.
sliding
4/5Warrior's slide system is solid but behind Vaughn QuickSlide and Brian's Primo-Slide. Better than CCM Speedskin. RTL spec doesn't change the slide material.
comfort
5/5Semi-hinge boot adds ankle comfort that fixed-boot designs lack. Sturdy Velcro strapping locks the pad more securely than most competitor systems. Removable liner available.
value
2/5At $1,500 for the flagship with a 180-day warranty, the value ask is real. G7 Pro at $1,249 is a better value for most goalies unless you specifically need HyperComp and custom-grade build.
resale
3/5Warrior is improving but still has a smaller used market than Bauer or CCM. RTL pads move at reasonable percentages but take longer to sell.
