intermediatesenior

The G7 Pro is the top retail tier of Warrior's Ritual G7 line, sitting between the entry G7 (under $600) and the pro-spec G7 RTL (~$1500+). The G7 generation is a meaningful step up from the older G6 — softer for a more forgiving butterfly seal, and at just 4lb 8oz for a 34+1.5 senior pad, among the lightest pads on the market.

The pad uses HyperComp internals where rigidity matters (thigh, knee) and stays soft elsewhere for seal and break. Single external break, 75-degree break angle, removable liner. Strapping is sturdy double-elastic Velcro — overbuilt in a good way.

Best for: AAA butterfly goalies who want pro-tier feel without RTL custom-build cost; mobility-first goalies who need the lightest pad they can afford.

Not ideal for: goalies who want the stiffest possible pad (the G7 generation is softer than G6 — some pros prefer the older, stiffer feel); buyers who care about long warranty terms (Warrior offers 180 days vs industry-norm 1 year).

Score breakdown

durability

4/5

HyperComp internals plus sturdy Velcro double-elastic strapping. Solid season-long ownership reports. 180-day warranty (shorter than competitors) is a downside.

mobility

5/5

4lb 8oz is class-leading weight. Single external break and thin profile put it among the fastest pads on the market.

rebound

4/5

Stiff thigh, medium knee flex. Rebounds are lively but slightly less controlled than dedicated stiff-core pads like Axis or FlyLite.

sliding

4/5

Solid but not best-in-class. Behind Vaughn QuickSlide and Brian's slide tech.

comfort

5/5

Removable liner and 75-degree break angle give flexibility for individual fit. Strapping is the best in the price range by many community accounts.

value

4/5

$1,249 is reasonable for the top retail tier. Better value than flagships above it but pricier than the G7 below.

resale

3/5

Warrior is improving in resale but still has a smaller used market than Bauer or CCM.
